Privacy policy for the “Vorratskammer” app

2. Principle

The app has no server of its own and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking features. You do not create an account with us.

3. Data on your device

Stock, food groups, storage locations, history and settings are stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to them.

4. Camera

The camera is only used to scan barcodes. No pictures are stored or sent.

5. Product data from Open Food Facts

When you scan a product the app doesn’t know yet, the app sends only the barcode to Open Food Facts (Open Food Facts, France, openfoodfacts.org) to retrieve the product name and picture. For technical reasons, Open Food Facts receives the IP address of your device. Product pictures are also loaded from Open Food Facts; you can switch this off in the settings. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the feature you requested). The privacy policy of Open Food Facts applies.

6. Shared storage (optional)

If you connect shared storage, the app stores stock, history and the short names of the devices as files in a folder of your own cloud storage (iCloud Drive by Apple, Google Drive by Google or OneDrive by Microsoft). Everyone you share this folder with can see the household’s stock and history.

You sign in directly with the respective provider; the app only stores the access authorisation in the secure storage of your device, not your email address or your name. The app only reads and writes in the household folder you selected. The provider’s privacy terms apply to the storage.

7. Notifications

Reminders about expiring food are created locally on your device. No data is transmitted for this.

8. App stores

When you download the app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, the respective provider processes data under its own terms. We have no influence on this.

9. Your rights

Since we do not store any personal data about you, we are generally unable to provide information about stored data. You delete local data by uninstalling the app; you delete data in shared storage in your cloud storage.

Under Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:
